I know...

it's a desert, hellish hot through the day, but night must have been ice cold, yeah ?

In March it's quite mild. The nights aren't so cold (no frost) and the maximum temperatures are not over 30 Celsius. So there were no problem. And you cannot see on the picture, but the nearest village was only 20-25 minutes of walk from there.
