The Priest

[ Sizes: Orig | Small | Thumb ]
The Priest
The NE (shadowy one on left) and the NW faces of The Priest. Kind of looks like a seahorse from this vantage point....a giant 450-foot seahorse. I think that the modern test piece of Excommunication climbs the light-shade arete in this shot (Feb. 5, 2005).

OK, guys.....you can cool your jets now! How do you guys manage to find all this time to climb? Can I have your job and the generous boss that goes along with it!?

Hey Dave,

Three words: "reality enhancing drugs" ;) to allow all-night drives from Oregon (though in this case we cheated by flying to SLC).

Job, boss thing....no comment online (we can exchange some emails on this topic :)

Thanks for stopping by and checking these out. We're happy to hear that Deb will be safely home very shortly - looking forward to seeing your guys' SP submissions in the near future.

Cheers,

radek

We're hoping Craig will have enough video footage from this season and last seasons wall climbing to submit as a SP video. He did one a few years ago that turned out wth amazing quality (used a Sony Super 8 and editting equipment).

That WOULD be pretty interesting to check out (and a first for SP as far as I know - the video thing!). Was it Craig that mentioned at some point that he climbs with 2 cameras - this way he and his partner can both get unique footage from the climb (then splice it together nicely into a movie)?

We carried 3 cameras: one with the lead climber, one with the belayer, and one for someone hanging on fixed line next to the route being lead. Should be some cool editted footage (especially doing The Gold Wall, Staircase Falls and Kat Pinnacle)

Wow 3??!! That's very impressive. You guys really covered it like professionals. Would be cool to see the finished product.
