The saddle on Everest. On...
The saddle on Everest. On this side you are in Nepal. Over the top you are in Tibet. The Khumbu icefall runs from the centre right to the bottom middle left. The rock here is notoriously rotten. When this image was taken in October 1982 there was a team from Catalonia being frustrated on this route to the west ridge. William Marler 1982, Pentax Spotmatic F. Kodachrome 64.
