The Thompson Glacier has...

The Thompson Glacier has crevasses, bergschrunds and a morain. It may not be very thick, but I think it is a glacier. 3 September 2005

Nice shot Dennis

Hard to imagine an active glacier in that spot, but there it is !

Re: Nice shot Dennis

Yes, it is nice. I could see a little blue ice in the crevasses. It may not be PC to admit there is a glacier here with all the global warming melting these darn things.

Re: Nice shot Dennis

I don't know what is or isn't PC about it, but apparently this one is rather unique in certain ways, according to this note.

Thanks for posting this photo. Just because of it, I plan to see it for myself. Excellent mountain page and photo Dennis.

Re: Will take a visit

The glacier is a bit out of the way from the hiking trail, but there shouldn't be any major obstacles getting there. I took the pick at full zoom. You amy need protection/ice axe/crampons to get into the crevasse.
