The view from the summit during the evening of Aug 28, 1999. The entire coastline was covered by clouds so I didn't know what to expect hiking down Rattlesnake Ridge to the ocean, but since I had driven such a long way to get here, I pressed forward and headed down anyway. Luckily the next day would be clear and gorgeous.
