looking south from Mt. Claywood. This is the most beautiful lake I have seen in my entire life.

What a beauty! I need to look up Mount
Claywood in my guidebook. It looks like a
person could disappear in that area for a week, not come out for a week and never see
another person for a week!!! Amazing...

Thank you; I appreciate your comments... In truth, it took me 2 days and a 20 mile hike to arrive at that spot. After getting 3 miles from the trailhead I only saw 1 party of old (in their 60s), hardy backpackers for the next five days. Without a doubt my best backpacking trip to date.

The whole Dosewallips region is spectacular. Thousand Acre Meadow there in the background is an exceptional place for camping. I'd have to agree with you that this lake is spectacular. I think the only two lakes to compare to in the Oly's are Hagen Lake and Lake LaCrosse, and probably Lake of the Angels. Definetely a sweet moment you've captured here.

Yep. You said it. Now I just have to get back and explore the rest of the Olympics!

I've already got planned where I'm going this summer. I doubt if we will cross paths in that deep wilderness (since I'll be off trail 90 percent of the time), but I wish you all the best getting out there again:)

By the way, just to spice up your desire, here's a link to a webcam from Hurricane Ridge. Enjoy!:)http://www.nps.gov/archive/olym/cams/hurricane/current_ridgecam_large.htm
