"The Watcher of The Dells"

Massive boulders of ancient rock have weathered (exfoliated) into delicately balanced forms and fanciful shapes, reflected in the surface of Watson Lake. The scenic "Granite Dells" offer a great place for boating, picnicking or a stroll into time. Rock climbers tackle the challenging granite formations, (being very careful not to take them for granite!) Watson Lake Park, four miles north (of Prescott) on AZ-89, offers year-round day-use and summer weekend camping. Prescott is a "small" thriving city located (at 5,400') in the mountains of north-central Arizona, only 90 minutes, but a world away from metropolitan Phoenix. The climate is a delightful combination of FOUR moderate seasons with monsoon rains in the late summer and snow in winter producing an average of 19" precipitation (total) per year. The area is well-known for its wooded forests and pre-Cambrian ROCKS. This was taken at Watson Lake Park. Some call this granite formation "The Watcher of the Dells." December 18, 2008 AND while in Prescott, you might want to let your hair down!

Re: Great picture!

I wouldn't exactly call it a "house-sized" rock. It's more like a condo for elves.

When the good Lord created Arizona, He left all the rocks here! Have a joyous Holiday, Kathy!!!

Surprising

AZ should be dry. 19'' is a bit more than my monitor! No wonder such considerable puddles.
But a good idea to take revenge on my hair which has let me down in recent years.

Re: Surprising

Sorry, I didn't mean to exclude those who
experienced a loss of hair. My supervisor at
work said that's the reason for the invention
of hats. Even Santa Claus (St. Nick) wears a
hat as an extraordinary fashion statement, and to keep his head warm during those cold arctic nights at his toy factory.

Re: Surprising

But it's not only that part feels like going - the other part turns the wrong color, though it's not red this time. BTW Do you make any green cowboy hats in the West?

Re: Surprising

The West has a wide selection of cowboy hats. Personally, I don't normally wear a
cowboy hat, because it makes me look like a
wrangler from a movie.
