Your recent photo of this formation got me interested in checking out this peak when I visit the Swell in October. This page has a lot of good information to help.

But how come no mention of what a wickiup is in the overview?
A wickiup is a type of tepee.

Interestingthat it might be a volcano, it looks like one too, on the map. It is still beyond me why anybody would call this a tepee!

Hey there WV ...This formation lies in the San Rafael Swell area off 1-70, right?
When I look on the topo, I see several areas marked "prospects."
What exactly do these prospects consist of - are they old mine
shafts?
I think the rest of us "got shafted" for not discovering this
wonderful place much more quicker.
