The WWF lists Pikas as...

The WWF lists Pikas as endangered. I do see quite a few of them in the Canadian Rockies and I photographed this Pika on the descent of Kerr Mt in Yoho Valley. They are normally very shy. This character was not, therefore, my photos of him are being used on several Pika related websites under the name "Yoho".

Nice shot.

Those little fellows are headed straight for extinction. Supposedly will be the first mammal species to be done in by global warming.

Re: Wrestling Pikas?

Count me in then! Sounds like the event of the year. I've been waiting to see a team of pikas K.O. a macho marmot or something!

Re: OMG

Thanks. You know, when I was first introduced to them, they were always quite shy...and I never assumed I would find posers like this guy...but after a few years in the Canadian Rockies...I found quite a few who wanted to entertain.....cheers

Re: Colorado

Sorry Wiktoria, but I never climb in Colorado except a bit of waterfall ice in the winter. My Rockies experience is all up north in Canada. Post this question in the Colorado forum and the hikers/scramblers will be all over it. The guy who seems to know the most about Colorado scrambles would be "Scott"....that is his handle on SP and he is a super nice and informed dude. Cheers and good luck!
