This is near 8500' where the...

This is near 8500' where the routes split. This pic was taken June 25 '05 and there is still snow covering the cliff bands so either route can be taken.

Good Picture

Tanners Gulch is one that I am interested in doing. Your picture shows the route really well. There is still plenty of snow at the end of June this year.

I went up to about 9100' late yesterday afternoon for a short hike. About 5:00 PM it got real dark and overcast, I went over to the East chute and started glissading down as fast as I could, punched thru in one place, glad it was just one leg. Then it started to rain really hard, It didn't bother me but the frequent lightning strikes and loud thunder seemed to be right in the gulch which did. Frightening being the tallest thing in a steep gully. I fell 3 times and had to arrest with my axe. A pretty adventursome outing for a 3 hour hike.
