Three Sisters

[ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Three Sisters
Three Sisters coming out of Cougar Canyon, May 31, 2006, little (left) is a "bad rock" technical climb few if any want to do anymore, middle is an easy scramble or alpine ski in the winter, big (right) is a moderate scramble, the last portion can be difficult if snow covered. A full traverse is only rumored by the veteran crowd. Can't say I know anyone who has really done it. Would be quite technical and extemely loose.

""You cannot stay on the summit forever; you have to come down again. So why bother in the first place? Just this: What is above knows what is below, but what is below does not know what is above. One climbs, one sees. One descends, one sees no longer, but one has seen. There is an art of conducting oneself in the lower regions by the memory of what one saw higher up. When one can no longer see, one can at least still know.""   --Rene Daumal
