Tried to circumnavigate this Fourth of July weekend. Started at Timberline and made it to Rushing River area then turned around due to snow over the trail. Some difficult route finding due to this. Lots of felled trees on trail after this heavy snow year.
I'd wait another 1-2 weeks of sunshine before attempting again.

Wash out?
Started from Timberline Lodge headed west but was forced to turn back at around Cloud Cap where there was a massive wash out I didn't know about previously. Afterwards I found out there was a rope leading down the trail into the gulch but I never found that. Too bad!
My favorite campsite of all time is near the turn off for McNeil Point. Beautiful alpine glow and wildflowers. I loved that whole side of the mountain. Ramona Falls was lovely also.

Summer 2009
I did the T-line twice this summer. Once in July, 2 days, clockwise, high rivers, snow on the north side was a challenge.
Next in mid-August, counterclockwise, 14 hours, snow-free, many trail crew kids out and about. Smarter the second time about crossing the Eliot - go above!

Moritz and I ran the loop for the second time and despite feeling terrible for a large part of the day (jet lag? the cold weather?), I was able to keep moving and we improved our time from 11:51 to 11:19; though time was not our goal, we just wanted to be under 12 hours. Tom was in great shape and could have done the route in 10 hours in my opinion... The weather was cool in the morning and really cold and windy towards the end of the trip. Great, hard effort.
