FINAL APPROACH: The final set of rough and steep switchbacks nearing Capitol Lake are by no means easy, but luckily the view is very easy on the eyes. The final approach offers amazing looks at the impressive jagged Capitol ridge and rugged north face. The haze from the disastrous Hayman Fire lingered in the sky during our hike. Shot taken 6/28/02 by John Paulson aprroximately 3/4 mile from the lake.
