Torment-Forbidden traverse - typical 4th class terrain

Typical fourth class terrain on the Torment-Forbidden traverse. Eldorado Peak and the Inspiration Glacier in the background. The haze is due to forest fires in eastern Washington. Though they were miles away, we awoke to the smell of a campfire--very strange given that we were bivied high in the alpine! August 26, 2006.
