From Breckenridge, drive 8 miles south on Colorado 9. Turn right (west) on the Blue Lakes Road, #850. Drive a few hundred yards and turn right on the McCullough Gulch #851 Road. Drive 2.1 miles to the end of the road near a gate. Before 2 miles, there is a road junction, stay left on the main road.

There is room at the end of this road for several cars along the road to park. This trailhead has no facilities.

During Winter and Spring, this road is closed. There will be a plowed-out parking area at the beginning of McCullough Gulch #851 with room for about three cars.

"I leave Sisyphus at the foot of the mountain! One always finds one's burden again. But Sisyphus teaches the higher fidelity that negates the gods and raises rocks. He too concludes that all is well. This universe henceforth without a master seems to him neither sterile nor futile. Each atom of that stone, each mineral flake of that night filled mountain, in itself forms a world. The struggle itself toward the heights is enough to fill a man's heart. One must imagine Sisyphus happy."   --Albert Camus
