LocationFrom Clovis: Take Highway 168 toward Shaver Lake. Turn east on Dinkey Creek Road. Continue 12.5 miles then turn right on McKinley Grove Road. Continue14 miles east to Courtright Road, turn left on Road 8S07, west side of the lake. Travel 3 miles past Trapper Springs Campground to the trailhead. Road SurfacePaved.SeasonJune through October (snow conditions permitting)Common Destinations Cliff Lake, Rock Lake, Second Dinkey Lake, Eagle Peak & The Three Sisters.Permits & QuotaYes. Permits are required for overnight camping in wilderness areas. First-come/first-served walk in permits may be obtained at the Sierra National Forest: High Sierra Ranger Station in Prather; Dinkey Creek Visitor Station (Huntington Lake), or Supervisors Office in Clovis.
