Hasn't voted | The views up and down the backside of the traverse here were the best certainly. Thanks Paulo! | | Posted Jul 12, 2012 11:08 am |

Voted 10/10 | SP missed your presence for a while. Just a white box with a red x is not enough.

Hasn't voted | Thanks Noondueler! Good to know more than just Paddles was missed!
I think that ridgeline visible far below is Gray Butte (about 4000 feet below). And the barely perceptible snowfields to the left are Red Butte. Based on where this photo was taken (on the east side after the Sargents Ridge junction) I think Green Butte is just out of view, a bit closer to the mountain and to the right.
I've missed these discussions! | | Posted Jul 19, 2012 1:43 pm |

Voted 10/10 | Actually I meant Gray Butte, 'cause I hiked it last summer. I remember hiking almost up to Green Butte some years back and the rock was really nasty sharp and some of it loose. I can see why you definitely want do do this mountain with a good snow base! | | Posted Jul 19, 2012 9:39 pm |

Hasn't voted | I went up to Green Butte one fall several years ago after all the snow was gone. Cannot remember the exact route we took... probably from Ski Bowl trailhead though. Yes lots of loose rock, but if you get a chance to go there are tons of nice fulgurites from lightning strikes up there. | | Posted Jul 23, 2012 3:48 am |
