Tribute to a friend

Bob Bolton (on the left) is a Summitpost member who really got me involved in the chasing of county highpoints and prominence peaks in a big way back in 2003. He has become one of my very best friends and I owe him a debt of gratitude for his positive influence and for sharing his passion of the peaks with me. Together we have done close to 100 peaks together. Thank you Bob, and congratulations for your accomplishments this year. Bob finished the ultra list. See his profile for more on this arena.

Re: It is so nice

Marc, thank you for such nice comments, I reallly appreciate them. In fact, your comments inspired me to put up an album along this theme. Its a work in progress but along the line of your comment of "friendships made in the mountains are to be treasured forever". What a true statement.

Finally...

...I see what you were talking about last week when you told me you were doing something special, but I was in the middle of something and didn't remember when that was completed. Then I was gone for the weekend. I get back home to check on the goings-on of my great friend Dean, and lo and behold. Thanks my friend for your very thoughtful and welcome words. Now I gotta go check out the new album... :-) -Bob

For the life of me...

...I couldn't remember where this was taken! Someone else must have been there to shoot the photo, it must have been cool, and the trail had a number. Then I thought of our Dog Mountain hike in Feb. '04 and checked those pix. Sure enough, Rhonda took the photo, and it was taken with my camera! Very memorable hike, and I'd do it again with you any time if you only were living close by again. Kennewick seems SO close now as compared to Lehi! C'mon back home already! :-) -Bob

Re: For the life of me...

Your memory serves you well. Indeed it was Rhonda who took this shot with YOUR camera.
I was going through the pics in a forgotten file when I found this. I thought, "Hey, he isn't taller than me" but you do look taller in this pic. Rhonda deserves a ten from both of us.

Re: For the life of me...

I told her she got a 10 for the pic and she said "It's better of him than of you!" :-)) She's just biased in favor of her cuz! :-)

Re: had the pleasure of

Radek, thanks for your very kind words. The pleasure has been mine each time, and I hope we'll do it again this winter. Maybe I can get my wife to join me next time. You and Shirley are surely SPs "first couple", and watching your contributions here has been a joy for all these years. -Bob
