If only all mountains had an Easy Way Down...
A group of us took the Rainbow Lakes trail from Big Trinity Lake campground as far as Big Rainbow Lake before turning west to ascend the SE ridge. (Some maps showed a trail for this but we couldn't find anything and just went cross-country.) Followed the ridge north over some mild Class 2 stuff before intersecting with the road two switchbacks below the summit and followed it up the rest of the way. Spectacular 360 views from the top and everyone was quite pleased that we could save our knees and just take the road back to the campground!
Easy hike up the road. There were snow drifts at the pass so the road was gated further down. This made the hike a little longer: ~9 miles r/t and 2000 ft of gain.

Jeep Trail
I took the kids up the jeep trail where we found some relief from the relentless mosquitos and horseflys at our campsite on the lake. It's a beautiful view from the summit.

nice little hike
This is a nice little hike that's good for the whole family. Beautiful day, and the fire outlook is really neat.

Hike/ Scamble
Hike and scrambled from the jeep road. Beautiful day Smoke from fires in the Sawtooths. Then hiked to the saddle via Green Island Lake.

ridge traverse
Climbed to the ridge above Big Rainbow lake and followed the ridge to peak 9140, back down and up to Trinity mountain. It's a pretty area.

Traverse
Completely traversed the peak utilizing all surrounding ridgelines (up to Class 4) and trail portions past many lakes. Started near the saddle on the NW side and scrambled over to the trail at the prominent pass NE of the peak. Followed the trail up to Heart Lake and then scrambled the SE ridge to the summit and then back down the north ridge.
