Started out from seattle late friday to avoid a Saturday Am drive, as we planned on a single day trip. Woke 5:00 Saturday morning, and strarted up towards lake colchuck. Taking in the beautiful views along the way, the lack of other people on the trail was of note, If fact we only saw 4 other people the entire trip.
During lunch at lake colchuck our team of three decided to ascend the colchuck Glacier as cliffs above Asgard pass were in the sun a posed a slight rockfall hazard, and Colchuck glacier look like more fun anyhow. After step kicking in hard snow and moderate slush we rested at the top of colchuck glacier and took in the views.

Proceeding up towards the summit, we moved from rock to steep snow and back onto rock for the final push. The scrambling was moderate to difficult with the added thrill of exposure, and we found this route to be much more fun and challengind than summiting via Asgard pass, which we proceeded to glissade down, what a thrill.

All in all a great one day trip, though the last two miles seem to drag on.
