Well!
Would have been a-lot better climb with snowshoes. Beautiful day though. Started out about 9 with a group of five from the trailhead. The hike to the base was long and uneventful. Soon after we started the vertical climbing we began to post hole up to our knees or deeper. We ended up climbing up one of the main chutes. Saw a family of mountain goats (damn those animals are sure footed) 2 of us summited. We were able to ascend in a little over 5 hours, descent took far less time (3 hours). Can't wait for a return winter ascent with snowshoes and skis for the descent.
Trip Details
Trailhead Elevation 7070 Feet
No summit register
Water is abundant throughout the climb
Suggestions
If planning to climb in summer, you would be able to ride a mountain bike to the base, saving time and energy.
