Cannon Mountain,Little Annapurna,Enchantment Peak,Dragontail Peak - The Alpine Lakes
From Prusik Pass, these four easy peaks make for a fine tour of the Middle and Upper Enchantments as well as the Lost World Plateau.
From Prusik Pass, I headed west up talus and minor snow patches to the broad talus and sand slope at 8200'. From here the summit pyramid of Enchantment Peak sits just overhead. I ascended via the west face, the final 15' being an easy class 3 climb up a notch with good hand holds. This is the NE peak along the immediate ridge and several bumps of similar elevation exist just to the SW. Heading that way, I scratched my way up two more bumps before losing interest and heading out towards Dragontail.
I headed SW on a high traverse under the SW peaks on the ridge. This route goes, but is not without its exposure and loose rock. Various cliff bands exist above Inspiration Lake and it took me a few minutes to find the route through. I then descended to Tranquil Lake then over to Aasgard Pass and then up the glacier to the col just to the SE of Dragontail Peak. From here it was an easy hike to the summit. I descended the glacier then rounded the east shoreline of Isolation Lake where I made a direct ascent of the Snow Creek Glacier to 8200'. Here it's a straight forward traverse to the summit of Little Annapurna. I descended the NE slope of the mountain and more or less followed the trail all the way back to Prusik Pass to complete the loop.
