The 21 first of july started good. Although thunder storms were predicted , we decided to try our luck , because worse was on the way. After a rather unnerving cable car ride we arrived at the Klein Matterhorn just after eight in the morning. All seemed well as there were guided groups on the mountain traveling in all direction's. From here we had an awsome view of the Rosa plateau (it's big !) The Castor , The Polluz and The Lyskamm. Shortly after leaving the kl.Matterhorn onto the Breithorn pass the weather closed in on us and the mountain disappeared in a large white cloud. Still nothing to worrie about. After about one hour we reached the base of the south west face , everything was in good condition so we started to ascent. We heard the rumbling below us in the valley's in both Switserland and Italy. But with guided group's still on the mountain and heading for the summit we decided to pres on. At a point at 4032 meter's we stopped to take a rest , suddenly the air began to charge up with static electricity resulting in constant discharges in our clothes , the air was filled with a funny smell and a constant sizzling sound. In a matter of minutes the large white cloud's turned a dark inky bleu and a gale force wind came up from the plateau. In no time the guided group's came running down the mountain , and we had to pack up in a record breaking time , we returned to the pass in i believe 45 minutes. We missed the summit nearly got fried scared stiff but what a hell of a ride !
