Eight of us parked at Cold Springs, hiked to Sunrise Camp via Round the Mountain trail and Bird Creek Meadows. Our plan was to carry over the Mazama Glacier route and descend the south side. The next day from Sunrise Camp, we got going around 5:45, climbed the Mazama Glacier route (no variation, straight up) in 4 1/2 hours (3 1/2 hrs on snow), stashing gear at Pikers Peak, summiting at 11:15. With the serious part of the trip done, we whooped it up glissading in chutes up to 5 feet deep! Incredible! The deepest one is the lowest on the route, and is so deep it's like going into a water park ride. Finishing our descent on the South side, we ended at the car at around 3:15. This is a great way to see Adams, climb an easy, but fun route, and get some glissading action. I plan to do this one again!
