Spearhead I

The Dr. and I hiked up the six miles through Glacier Gorge to the base of Spearhead, on the west side of Longs Peak and above treeline. Make sure you leave grandma home for this hike with climbing gear, bivy gear, winter clothes and a fifth of Jack. You can use the stuff as fuel for petes sake!

As it turned out, the "ice storm" the area recieved a week prior didnt really melt off. We decided not to try the route, and just hike around the day we had to climb. Ice and rock was falling from the route once the sun fully hit it. We had left our ice skates in the car.

So that is why this is titled Spearhead I Trip Report, because there will be one for the NE Ridge 5.6 early next season.

Glacier Gorge is awesome. A favorite RMNP place to be.
