According to the book, Grays and Torreys Peak are moderate hike. So on August 12, early morning, I left the Motel 6 in Lakewood near Denver at 4 am. It was still dark. I drove on I-70 and exited at no.212 ( I think). There is no town or anything. After the exit, turned left, the sign, Grays Peak TH, is there. I drove up the hill which is a dirt road. It is managable with my Ford Explorer. But at the last mile or so, I had to drove through big bump. I was afraid to damage my rental car, so I parked on the side of the road. There were one or two car did the same thing. By the time, I finished hiking at the end of the day, there were more than five cars parking behind mine. I had to hike for a while before I reached the Stevens Gulch Trailhead. When I arrived at the trail head, it was about 6:30 am. I had to cross the wooden bridge. I took some pictures at the trailhead. The trailhead is almost above the treeline. The trail is gentle; not steep at the beginning. The trail become steepper and steeper on the ridge line, and it is rocky. Many hikers were on this trail; probably it is a eay climb. After the long hike, the trail split; one to Grays Peaks and another to Torreys Peak. It was windy and cold. I chose Grays Peak. The trail is even rockier. Finally, I made it to the top. There were many people who just finished climbing Torreys Peak. I was wondering "should I try Torreys or not?", because I was tire and cold. But finally, I decided I would give it try. I was a easy climb. On the way up, I saw a white mountain sheep. I took couple pictures with it. It was beautifull. I arrived at the top of Torreys Peak at noon. I had my lunch up there and took some pictures. It is beautifull scenery at the top. I got back to my car at about 3 or 4 pm. I enjoyed so much on that day. I will go back again and again.
