After registering at the Sedro Wooly Ranger Station we headed up to the trailhead at the end of Forest Service road 13. The road was dusty but in good shape. The trailhead was a zoo but lucky for us most of the people were coming down. The bridges are washed out on the stream crossings but if you get there early enough in the morning you shouldn't have a problem. The trail all the way to the Rail Road Grade Moraine was dry and had signs of recent trail maintenance. Thank you to the people responsible. The snow level started about 6100'. That was were we set up camp. We started the actually climb at 0100 am on Saturday. The snow was mostly firm all the way to the summit; although some of the crevasses were pretty soupy. We summated around 0715 am. Had mostly clear conditions with views all the way to the San Juan Islands. The snow started to get unstable on the decent. It had the consistency of a slurpie. The snow melted about four inches while we were climbing so it's going fast. We were able to walk around most of the crevasses without any problems. The only other note worthy portion of the descents was back at the stream crossing. In just one day the crossing was at least two feet deeper then it was on the way up.
