We had thought, that Monte Vettore would be far enough to the south so that no snow would be left at easter. Wrong. Still quite a bit of snow and some fresh snow too.

We parked at Forca di Presta and walked up the south ridge. There is an easy path which was clear even in these conditions.

The views of the adriatic sea and the Gran Sasso where magnificent.
However most impressive was the brown landscape which made you feel like beeing on the moon.

Ascent was ca 1000 m which can be done in 2-3 hours.
