I woke up at 5:20 am and picked up my girlfriend at 5:55. We started at the La Luz Trailhead at 6:30. At 7:30 we made it to 7,900', at 8:30 we were at 8,770', and at 9:30 we made it to 9,440'. Around this time, my girlfriend and I were stung by either bees or stinging flies, which really hurt. We arrived at the fork between the trails that go to the tram or the summit at 10:05. We finally climbed on to the summit at 10:35. We decided to take the tram down instead of hiking back down through the bees and boulders, so we hiked 1.8 miles south to the upper terminal. We arrived at the bottom terminal at 12:30 pm and got a ride back to the car.
