We climbed Mt. Democrat July 19, 2005. We had no problem with access. The trail was well marked. We recommend following the switchbacks instead of climbing the rock along the ridge line. We encountered high winds of 50 - 70 mph along the ridge. This prevented us from continuing on to Mt. Lincoln and Mt. Bross. Even though this was a big snow year, most of the snow was gone from the trail and did not present a problem.
