Access from Boulder, CO:

Take 40 west from I-70.
Park on the east side of the road at Berthoud Pass summit.

Runs:

Luke Kroiss, Greg Koeka, Mike Cubison and I skinned up to Colorado Mines Peak (12,497') and skied the northwest face along the ridge above Mines Slide Path until coverage was not acceptable to the group (~11,600'). The snow up here was excellent; light and fluffy. The coverage was minimal, so we had to keep a keen eye for rocks. We skinned back up to the summit and spooned our last turns, but dropped into Mines Slide Path at ~11,700' and skied down to ~11,400'. The snow in Mines Slide Path was great and skiing through young trees is always fun. We skinned back up to the summit and spooned our lines again, but entered Mines Slide Path at its top and skied down to ~10,800'. The snow was more cohesive due to warm temperatures and direct exposure to the sun, but still great fun. The snow coverage was sufficient to ~11,200'.
