introduction

this is a trip report in pictures. I would rather do this as an album - but it seems that there you cannot give an order to the shown pictures.

picture report

starting at St. Antoenien
We are starting on a fine winter day at St. Antoenien. Here, at the houses of Litzirueti, the route branches off to the right into a side valley. Many people think that the nice mountain in the background is Sulzfluh - but in fact it is the far less famous Weissplatte.

Gafia side valley
The route follows the little snow covered road into the side valley of the Gafier Bach creek where we pass the houses of Engi and Doerfji.

crossing the creek
after crossing the Gafierbach creek behind the houses of Doerfji the real ascent starts.

a creek in winter
a creek, snow and NO tracks of humans is one of my favorite picture motifs.

Saess pasture
Some 300m ascent brings us to Saess pasture (1941m). It's a very fine spot for a rest. The unimposing summit of Eggberg can already be seen on the left.

Saess from above
another 260m rather gentle ascent brings us on the summit of Eggberg. Now we are looking down to Saess pasture - and looking forward to skiing down there.

summit view
summit view from Eggberg down to St. Antoenien valley. In the background are main mountains of the Raetikon Group: Drei Tuerme (left) and Sulzfluh (right). In front of Drei Tuerme is Schafberg (that is another nice mountain for a ski tour).

Hasenflueli
One and a half hours later we are now standing in front of the rocky summit of Hasenflueli. More behind is Raetschenhorn mountain.

cairn and Schesaplana
this big cairn is not on a summit but on the ridge near Hasenflueli. In the background Schesaplana (2965m) can be seen - highest mountain of the Raetikon Group.

starting downhill
It's already late and it's time to start the final downhill. Again Schesaplana is left in the background (right are parts of Drei Tuerme)

last sun
we enjoy the last rays of todays sun being back in the St. Antoenien valley.

A very nice picture story. I like the close up of that creek.

I think it's fine like you have it (as a trip report). With great photos like what you've got the pictures say a lot more than a bunch of blahblahblah text.

Thank you! I also think that I am better in taking pictures than in writing epics.
