08 july 2006Paolo is waiting for me at Weissmieshutte ; today he climbed Weissmiess alone and when I reach the shelter late at 5,00 pm he's so happy to meet me . He was worried about me ... he was thinking about another climb alone for tomorrow .
As usual ,the supper is swiss's traditional style . At 9 pm o'clock : let's go to bed , tomorrow we'll have a long day !
09 july 2006Wake up ! It's 3,30 am o'clock , and the weather is fantastic !
For 1 or 2 hours we walk in the darkness , than the sunrise on the Mishabel's group and Monte Rosa ; the light is fantastic .
We are almost at the "place de dejuner" (tr. breakfast's point) at the beginning of the Gruebengletscher.
After a little pause at the breakfast point , we start walking on the glacier ; Paolo on the Gruebengletscher towards the Fletschorn's top 3993 m. , in background Mischabel's group
After almost 4 h climbing we arrive to the Fletschorn's top at 3993 m.
On the top of Fletschorn, some ropes precede us and begin the easy descend by East ridge towards the Fletscjoch 3694 m.
Once arrived at Fletschjoch our traverse continues by Lagginhorn's NNE ridge ; from Fletschjoch it seems more difficult than how much it's not in reality . We must go and try !!!
From Fletschjoch we start climbing Lagginhorn's NNE ridge by a short icy and steep slope , Paolino Takasu

On Lagginhorn's NNE ridge we climb on the edge by cliff block with the maximum difficulties of III°UUIA

After almost 2,30 h from Fletschorn's top we arrive to Lagginhorn's top : our faces so happy !
Temperature is not so warm at altitude and there's a lot of ropes coming up from normal route ( W ridge ). And so after few minutes we start the way down by W's ridge . At first there's a little snow
Than only light path on rocky terrain ; Sass Fee behind the clouds .
At last here we retourn to the Weissmiesshutte , after almost 9 hours of fantastic ride ; Paolino, so happy , salutes everybody . In background Saas valley and Mischabel's group .
