Description:The Zumsteinspitze 4563m is in the Monte Rosa massif. The Monte Rosa massif consists of the 4000ers Dufourspitze 4634m, Nordend 4609m, Zumsteinspitze 4563m and Signalkuppe 4554m. Zumsteinspitze is the third highest mountain of Switzerland and stands between the Dufourspitze and the Signalkuppe
We started with ski in the Monte Rosa hut 2795m. Impressive ascent with ski, over the largely 'Grenz-glacier' with big crevasses, to the Zumsteinspitze. You have to go 1800 Meter heights. The latter part one goes to foot over the steep and exposed southeast ridge, which often froze, to the summit of the Zumsteinspitze 4563m.
At the summit is a bronze Madonna, she welcomes the mountaineers. The descent of the ski to the Monte Rosa hut is long and beautiful.
Signalkuppe 4554m - Zumsteinspitze 4563m, Dufourspitze 4634m and Nordend 4609m - a good Family! AccommodationsMonte Rosa Hut 2795m - Link: Monte Rosa Hut @ Summitpost
