laurel, humprheys, matthes, tenaya, conness, clyde

wife is out of town - babysit my own kids for a week? - no way!
fly grandma in and head for sierra

out of az sunday 13th at 4am
got to laurel at 1pm - 5 hrs solo ctc


 


 


 


monday
tried solo humprheys east arete turned around at notch
between peaklet and humprheys +- 13,100
wasnt really feeling it - 5 hr ctc


 


 


 


tuesday
met up with apachedino
aka dustin from SP for matthes crest
we made a long day of it 14 hours ctc

conness like finesse (at least thats how the locals said it)

friday
clyde minaret rock route
didnt quite summit - rejected at ?4th? class downclimb on ridgeline about 30 ft below summit - no rope with us
dustin "you doing that?"
me "?!@? no."
thou shall not die on the last day of climbing on the last 30 feet
it should be one of the climbers commandments
10 hr ctc from devils postpile
