Interesting Peak  Sucess!

Daria and I schlepped out past 5th Lake and scrambled the eastern slope/face of Two Eagle. I called it "The Little Peak that Should..." just be Class 3-4 already! Didn't enjoy the Class Poo sections that we seemed to get coaxed into. Did my damnedest (without plummeting) to get on either block, no go. Will go back the a short rope next year and get Ramu Horn. dammit

First Ascent East Ridge  Sucess!

Don Jensen was a climbing guide at the Palisade School of Mountaineering when he and I (an 18 year old camp cook) took the day off to do the east ridge. It was the high point of my climbing career, despite future climbs such as Whitney East Butt in January 1975 etc. Jensen was a true inspiration to so many of us!

E ridge

Climbed the east summit block from the south, but chickened out one move short on the west one -- I didn't want to fall onto the pile of rubble.

Sierra Challenge Peak  Sucess!

The route finding on this peak isn't as easy as one would think. Just following the ridge doesn't quite cut it. Adam and I were in the lead and topped out the ridge onto a point that had a register with the name "Ramu Horn". Very close by were two pillars we thought were Two Eagle. We waited for Bob, who concluded the summit to be still 15 mins further along the ridge. We went over there and found the real summit. The two summit blocks are really close in height. If you want to actually stand on them, they require about a 5.8 move.
