U-notch couloir conditions as...

U-notch couloir conditions as of 24 September, 2005- as is obvious, much of route (i.e. alpine ice) under snow, but still much good ice available to climb. Bergschrund didn't appear too difficult to get by.

Great shot

Hey, you sure do get around! We ran into you 12 august on the Sierra Challenge for Kearsarge Pinnaccles. Anyway, I always enjoy your work, and envy your ability to climb these incredible mountains. My climbing days are long over, but I did climb 62 summits in my day...cheers, Allan Blasdale

Thanks, Allan. It was nice running into you in the Sierra. Nice weather that day! Hope your trip went well. We had a good time on the Challenge. While it's too bad you can't be as active as you used to be, the important thing, I'd say, is that you're still able to get into the high country at least once or twice a year- I know many who are totally unfamiliar w/ the Sierra- their loss!
