It was quite a windy day with a fresh dusting of snow. The Barr Trail was mostly packed down (a thin run up the middle, anyhow). Early on it was just us and the maniacal trail runners. Leaving the Barr Trail we were in a decent amount of snow, but nothing a team of 6 couldn't handle. The scramble to the summit surprised me - it was a bit challenging in the snow. I dislogged a boulder the size and heft of a size 13 bowling ball on my knee. OUCH! The summit views just blew me away. The up-front rugged look at Pikes Peak was a special treat.
