| While returning from Farnum peak, I was reclimbing the slopes of Little Puma. Well it turns out that perhaps it should be called "Little Bears." I encountered a mother black bear and her cubs. Although they were a 100 yards away, she charged me. I immediately started in another direction and fortunately she was just being over protective and stopped short of me. Needless to say, I was uncomfortable the rest of the way while trying to circumvent Little Puma on the other side. | ||

| Great loop hike with the hound. Included Puma, Little Puma, Farnum and Burntop. No one else around, even on a holiday weekend. | ||

| Honestly, the initial bushwack from the saddle with Puma Peak is a bit of a drag (esp. with three dogs) but well worth the effort. The views from the summit of Little Puma are much better than anticipated. Partners: Husband and three dogs (Lady, Bing & Lela.) | ||
