With Geisslers  Sucess!

Cool summit, and really pretty area around Lost Man Lake. This mountain came as nice surprise to me, nice views of Sawatch Range.

Via SE Ridge  Sucess!

Made the ascent harder than necessary, cause I crossed a boulder field that I could've avoided to get to the saddle. Worth the effort, though. Lots of wildflowers on the E side of Lost Man Loop. Great way to spend a half day.

Repeatedly during the 90's...  Sucess!

But not for a while since... Nice addition to the Lost Man Loop Hike: up from S Fork Pass, and follow the ridge SE to the top. (Requires some detours S to avoid loose towers). Then descend S over benches to rejoin Loop trail close to the Lost Man Lake.

Great peak  Sucess!

Really liked this unique little summit. Climbed with UN 13202 & UN 13300. Got buzzed on the final summit of the day. Did a shuttle, left the keys in the wrong vehicle! Hitchiked back over Indy Pass!

With Geisslers  Sucess!

Solo climb, started at the upper trailhead for the Lost Man loop and headed to the saddle between the Geisslers. Then up the West peak, traversed to the East peak and descended to "Lost Man Pass", some easy 3rd class if you stay on the ridges. From there I traversed high to get to the PT 13001 saddle and up the ridge. This ridge has 2 major steps, but you can avoid them on grassy ledges/gullies on the left to keep the route class 2+. It started to rain at 11.45am, right when I got back to the car, perfect timing I guess. PT 13001 is a cool little peak, definitely worth the trip.

Southeast Ridge  Sucess!

UN 13,001 and I had a history.... Nineteen years before I finally climbed it, it stood silently and watched me as I experienced my very first backpacking trip, spending a rather miserable night (due to AMS) camped below its western flank. The next day, feeling much better, I passed under it as we made our way to Lost Man Lake. Years later, as an adult, I finally climbed to UN 13,001's summit. It was a memorable day, as I had returned to the area of my first experiences of the Colorado alpine world, and this time I had climbed one of the heights which I had passed under long ago.
