Started from the Crags Trailhead around 5:30 am. The winds were pretty gusty this morning. Clouds to the west obscured our views of the Sawatch and Mosquito Ranges. Had the summit all to ourselves.

Devils Playground
Very easy walk from the parking lot! You can hike from here to Pike's Peak and cut your walk in half compared to Barr Trail or coming from Crags.
Drove up to Pikes Peak, stopped by the Devils Playground for this very short side trip. We got to the toll booth around 7:45 and only had to wait a few minutes, when we exited at 10:00 there was a line of cars a half mile long waiting to get in.

I had always had some reason for putting off this little side trip, so I finally went for it. Did Pikes and Sachett Mtn. on the same trip. Took the dogs along for a long, but satisfying day.

Teller CoHPWalked down the Devils Playground trail a little ways from the Pikes Peak Highway, then back to the car over the highest rock.
