This tablet is fixed to the wall of the funevia station in Cervinia.

Notice the local climbers' names - Bich, Carrel, Maquignaz - that dominate climbing history in this area. You will see their names still on shops and hotels in Cervinia and Valtournenche.

Notice the British names - Mackenzie, Mummery and Tyndall - and the Swiss, De Saussure, who funded the first ascent of Mont Blanc.
