Hahaha, good call. I guess I could have. For some reason I thought of the piton first, then ran and grabbed my ice tool to pound it with.

The pick would have gotten stuck in the coconut, so probably better to have used the piton instead :)

It was pretty messy and inefficient either way. Hahahaha. I'll just buy canned coconut milk next time.

I also used the hammer to crack along the lines after the milk was drained.
