Hasn't voted | If you drew a square on the ground the same size as this rock and stood there in it it would be no big deal. But standing on that rock with big air around was as Little Joe LeConte once said "a little ticklish"! | | Posted Jul 1, 2010 8:56 pm |

Voted 10/10 | If "Little Joe Cartwight" were alive today,
he'd remark how much this resembles Bonanza's
6th season episode entitled "Between Heaven
and Earth."
It was the one where Little Joe was chasing after a cougar.
Merry Christmas to you, Windsor!

| mrchad9 | Where? | |
Voted 10/10 | Where exactly is this formation? At glacier point somewhere? | | Posted Jul 1, 2010 8:31 pm |

Hasn't voted | This is on Illilouette Ridge about 2 miles south of Glacier Point and about 3/4 mile southeast of the parking lot for Taft Point and Sentinel Dome. The views rival Glacier Point and nobody around. It's a thousand ft higher (8,200') and above Illilouette Falls I've been there a few times. It's like a well kept secret. It's real easy to get to. I'm gonna put up a M&R on it soon. | | Posted Jul 1, 2010 9:06 pm |

Voted 10/10 | Cool- I see the general area now. Poo to all those folks who say SP doesn't have good info on it. Look forward to your page and expect one day I'll be signing the summit log. | | Posted Jul 2, 2010 5:10 am |

Hasn't voted | Thanks g. I don't doubt my heart was beating faster standing there while my friend took the shot. Your profile pic is totally unique and outstanding. | | Posted Sep 26, 2010 4:21 pm |

Voted 10/10 | Thanks! It definitely raised my pulse a bit to slide out on that perch! The rock itself was not comfortably thick, but it was solid and cantilevered. Plus we have seen it used for others backdrop so I knew it would hold up. | | Posted Oct 11, 2010 1:41 am |
| silversummit | How.... | |
Voted 10/10 | did I miss this picture when you posted it last July? What a great shot! Someday I am going to get one like this, just once in my hikes.
Yes, it would def raise my pulse too but what a great picture for your wall!

Hasn't voted | Thanks Kathy. Jay and I were up on Illilouette Ridge. I found a rock outcrop about 30ft. high on the edge of the ridge. Jay took a pic of me with his Canon 5D after a steep move.
You can see my Xsi on the rock below. | | Posted Mar 11, 2011 9:46 pm |

Voted 10/10 | Superb viewpoint. And still the most memorable place I've been to. I expected it would be, but it was infinitely greater. | | Posted Jan 3, 2012 5:06 pm |

Hasn't voted | Thanks Ray. We were hiking on the ridge and I came apon this small rock tower, scrambled up and my friend took the shot. | | Posted Jan 4, 2012 12:44 am |
