A Few Words: Have been an avid hiker most of my adult life. Since moving to Colorado in 1997, my types/distances of hiking has grown. I have summitted 31 of Colorado's 54 14'ers as well as numerous dayhikes around Colorado. In July 2004, I was part of the Rainier 9 team - see http://www.alanarnette.com/alan/rainier.htm for details. Summitting Rainier was an incredible experience for me and opened my eyes to high altitude mountaineering. Completed my climb on Orizaba January 2008 - what a great mountain and trip to the Mexican countryside! Climb on!

""Thousands of tired, nerve-shaken, over-civilized people are beginning to find out that going to the mountains is going home; that wilderness is a necessity; and that mountain parks and reservations are useful not only as fountains of timber and irrigating rivers, but as fountains of life...""   --John Muir
