Valea Albă (White Valley) - Bucegi mountains | [ Sizes: Orig | Med | Small | Thumb ] |
My first real climb with rope and harness, summer of 1991. I remember that the valley still had a lot of old snow. Comments[ Post a Comment ] | yatsek | Fine Vintage Photo | |
Voted 10/10 | Ha ha - it was just a couple of years after I first crossed the Iron Curtain (which was about to fall), went to a shop selling climbing gear and bought 2 (two) meters of rope and a sleeping mat (I was a high school teacher then and earned about 20 dollars per month). :) | | Posted Jan 20, 2010 5:34 pm |

Even my grandfather (I didnt met him, he died pretty young) he done many crazy things, he liked adventure and travels. Well my uncle took me a few times with all the family but I start seriously by my self. Maybe is genetic???????????? | | Posted Jan 22, 2010 3:51 am |

Voted 10/10 | This is a really nice picture.
Nobody in my family were climbers, or even
very serious hikers. I was the black sheep of
my family.
I guess I could have "went places," if I
had migrated to the East, but I also had
very little money when I was growing up.
Great picture, Andreea !!! | | Posted Mar 17, 2010 6:19 pm |

Hasn't voted | It's so nice to hear your story about how you started. I didn't start climbing intil I was 19 but the seeds were sown when father took me to Europe and the Alps when I was 11. I still remember wanting to go to the top even then. My father was not athletic or outdoorsy at all, all the outdoor things I did on my own. Sounds like you caught the bug early and are still at it. | | Posted Oct 26, 2012 3:35 pm |
