View up Avalanche Gulch on August 12, 2005 with the Sierra Clubs Horse Camp in the foreground (~7900' and 1.7mi into the hike from Bunny Flat Trailhead). The season snowfall was high so there was still ample snow on the AG route above Helen Lake this late in the year. Camping is available for a $5 donation here if you wish. Oberman's Causeway begins just behind the cabin.
