Tara canyon

Main approach to Zabljak town, Durmitor’s gateway, leads from Mojkovac town in central Montenegro. 32km long section of the approach leads through the part of the river Tara's canyon. On this stretch canyon is 1000m deep and scenery is so beautiful that it draws countless ‘wows’ from any nature lovers mouth. Once you reach Durdjevica Tara bridge road leaves Tara and zigzags in serpentines towards Zabljak. Best part of the canyon begins after the bridge but can only be discovered with raft. Anyway for those that do not wish to do rafting this 32km long section is great glimpse into Tara and its canyon, UNESCO's world heritage area. Photo: Aleksandar Gospic
