A small gendarme guards Quandary's west ridge at the Quandary-Fletcher saddle. Higher up, the class 2 miner/social trail on the N side of the ridge is clearly visible due to the snow. Where the trail appears to run off climber's left of the ridge, it really cuts back up to the ridge proper and you find yourself at the start of the third class terrain. 14 April 2005.
