This is the upper part of the powerline Dean speaks of in the route description. I have no idea what it powers (something at or near Pt. 5145 on Abercrombie's East Ridge I'm guessing). For the descent it saved me a lot of time because I was able to cut off two or three long switchbacks (I had to start way down at 3,600 ft on the road due to snow). The ankle brush was not a big issue though would be cumbersome to climb up through. Hall Mountain (6,323 ft) is in the distance. April 26, 2005.
